Mission: To celebrate pipe organs and literature with live free performances by a variety of organists at a variety of churches. As envisioned by founder Frank Rippl, the recitals will last one half hour during the lunch hour , taking place on Wednesdays through the summer at local churches in the larger Fox Valley area of Northeast Wisconsin.
Organist Frank Rippl founded the Lunchtime Organ Recital series in 1995 to celebrate the pipe organ and its literature with live free performances by a variety of organists at churches throughout the Fox Valley. Frank served 46 years as Music Director and Organist at All Saints Episcopal Church, Appleton.
Frank brought together performers, selected churches and organs, dates, and publicity, for the seasonal concert series. He loved sharing the history and architecture of each of these historic buildings and invited everyone to appreciate the beauty within our community.
Performers and churches donate their time and space, and weekly donations go to cover expenses.
Frank’s wisdom, energy, and dedication allowed the Lunchtime Organ Recital to grow and develop for 25 years. Frank passed away in August 2018. The Series continues with volunteer efforts from a group which includes his wife Carol Jegen, friends and fellow organists from Northeast Wisconsin AGO Chapter.
